"DIY, do it yourself, mach es selbst, ohne Label, ohne viel Geld, ohne Allüren, auch ohne Erfolg?
Nie war es so leicht, selbst Label zu sein, aber zwischen 'Tracks zu iTunes bringen' und mit Sorgfalt selbstgestaltete CDs zu machen, besteht schon ein Unterschied.
DIY-Held Claudius Loik aus Berlin bringt gefühlt alle zwei Wochen ein Album raus. (…) Während Wesley Willis und seine Dämonen es auf ca. 50 Alben brachten, Kool Keith und MF Doom auch rekordverdächtig raushauen (sogar auf "richtigen" Labels), macht Claudius alles in Handarbeit selbst und mehr. CD-Rs im Pappschuber, Auflage so 7 Stück - oder so. Diverse Künstlernamen sind da natürlich unverzichtbar, allein, um sich nicht selbst zu verwechseln. Es kommt ganz unterschiedliche Musik von dem Ex-Greifswalder, da sind die Namen einfach eine Hilfe. DIAMETRAL z.B., das war oder ist eine Band, aber das ist er auch alleine. Kann sich schön jeder selbst verwirren lassen. Geld kann er damit nie verdienen, denn die CD-Rs kosten, was CD-Rs kosten plus anderes Material. 2,50 / 3,50 oder was Du halt geben willst. (…).“
